About TimerFlip, the online timer cube

A timer cube for the tab you already have open.

TimerFlip is a free countdown timer shaped like a timer cube. It is meant to feel as direct as the physical one: choose a face, start working, come back when the time is up. The same clock also runs a Pomodoro cycle, a classroom timer, a stopwatch and interval workouts.

What an online timer cube is

One object, a few durations

A timer cube puts a few durations on one object. You pick a face and start the countdown. TimerFlip is that object in the browser: a virtual timer cube for study, work, and short focus blocks. Nothing to install, and no account to create.

Use it as a study timer, a focus timer with an alarm, or a plain free online timer when you already have a tab open.

  • No installation
  • No account
  • Float overlay
  • Second screen
  • Mute alarm

Who it's for

Students, people blocking time at work, teachers running a lesson from the projector, event hosts keeping speakers to time, coaches and anyone doing HIIT at home, parents who want a simple visual countdown, and anyone who needs a timer without another account. The page is the product. There is no login and no backend.

How to start a countdown

Pick a face, press Start

Choose 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, or 60 minutes. The cube turns to that face, and the countdown begins when you press Start. Pause and resume when you need to, or reset to the full duration. For any other length, enter minutes and seconds up to 24 hours.

Built on timestamps

The countdown is calculated from timestamps, not from a chain of one-second delays. Switch tabs, or leave the phone locked, and the time left is still right when you come back. The stopwatch works the same way, and interval beeps are queued ahead on the audio clock. Your sound and view choices, Pomodoro lengths and last interval plan stay on this device.

More than a countdown

The same clock, set up for five other jobs. Each one has its own page.

  • Pomodoro timer

Twenty-five minute focus blocks with breaks that start by themselves, and a long break after every fourth. The cube shows the next block on its side face.

  • Classroom timer

Opens in the digital view with a thick bar that slides from green to red. One button puts it on the board for the whole room.

  • Stage timer

Digits that turn amber, then red, and keep counting past zero, so a speaker and the host both see how far over a talk has run. The host can send short notes to the stage screen too.

  • Stopwatch

Counts up in hundredths, with lap times, the fastest and slowest marked, and a button that copies the lot into a spreadsheet.

  • Interval timer

Work and rest rounds for HIIT and Tabata, with a 3-2-1 beep before every switch and colours you can read mid-burpee.

Which session length to use

Six faces, six kinds of work. Pick the one that matches the task.

  • 5 minute timer

A short burst. Review a few flashcards, clear a desk, or start the task you have been putting off. Five minutes is small enough that starting is the whole point.

  • 10 minute timer

A compact block of reading, practice, or inbox clearing before a longer session. Useful for warm-ups and for younger students who do better with a visible finish.

  • 15 minute timer

A quarter hour. Long enough to draft something or finish a short lesson, short enough to see the end from the start. This is the time on the top face.

  • 20 minute timer

A focused block for practice, email, or a meeting prep. Twenty minutes sits between a warm-up and a full half hour.

  • 30 minute timer

A standard focus block, five minutes longer than a Pomodoro, with a little time left afterward to stand up. This is the face the cube shows when you first open the page.

  • 60 minute timer

A deep-work hour for writing, revision, or a class activity. The display switches to hours only when a custom timer runs past 99 minutes.

Alarm, Full Screen, Floating Timer and Second Screen

Alarm

Leave the alarm on for a short chime at zero, or turn it off for a silent finish. Stop the sound without resetting the clock. Browsers sometimes block audio until you have clicked or typed on the page. If that happens, the cube still says Time's up, and a tap plays the chime.

Full screen

Full screen shows only the countdown, as large as the screen allows. A slim bar along the bottom keeps the presets, pause, reset, sound, and the Cube or Digital view within reach, and fades away while the timer runs. Move the mouse or tap to bring it back, and press Escape to leave. On a phone, full screen turns sideways.

Floating timer

On a computer, a small floating timer stays on top of your other apps, so the clock is visible while you work somewhere else. Closing it leaves the timer running on the page. On the stopwatch it keeps the hundredths.

Second screen

Put the clock alone on a projector or TV while the buttons stay on your laptop. Press Second screen, drag the new window onto the big display and click it to fill that screen. Every tool has it, so a lesson, a race or a workout can run on the wall while you control it from your desk. Point it at a monitor facing the stage and it becomes a speaker's confidence clock.

How this differs from a physical timer cube

A plastic cube is the right tool when you want the phone in another room. This one is there when a browser is already open. You get the same move - pick a duration, start working - plus pause, a custom length, digits you can read from across a desk, and a stopwatch and interval timer on the side. It does not sync an account or keep a history of your sessions, and it does not need to.

What it does not do

There are no accounts, no syncing between devices and no history: Pomodoro rounds and stopwatch laps clear when you reload, so copy your laps if you need them. There is no team dashboard either.

Ready when you are.
