About TimerFlip, the online timer cube

A timer cube for the tab you already have open.

A timer cube puts a few durations on one object: pick a face and start the countdown. TimerFlip is that object in the browser, a free online countdown timer for study, work, and short focus blocks. Nothing to install and no account to create.

Use it as a study timer, a focus timer with an alarm, or a plain countdown. Like a physical timer cube it is one move to start, plus pause, a custom length, and digits you can read from across a desk.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about the countdown, full screen, the Pomodoro, classroom, stage and interval timers, the stopwatch, and the alarm.

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

Yes. Remaining time is the difference between now and the moment the countdown should end. A hidden tab can slow down ordinary timers; this one does not depend on that.

Can I set a custom length?

Yes. Use whole minutes and seconds, at least one second and at most 24 hours.

What is the difference between the cube and digital views?

They run the same countdown. The cube turns to the face for the length you picked and counts down on its front. The digital view is a wide clock with a bar that shrinks as time runs out, which is easier to read from across a room. Switch with the Cube and Digital buttons above the timer, or from the bar in full screen. The main timer remembers your choice.

How does full screen work?

Press Full screen and the clock fills the display with nothing else on it. A control bar along the bottom lets you pick another time, start, pause, reset, turn the sound on or off, and switch between cube and digital. It fades a few seconds into the countdown and comes back when you move the mouse, tap, or press a key. Press Escape or Exit full screen to leave.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Space starts, pauses, or stops the alarm. R resets to the full length. Escape leaves full screen. They work anywhere on the page except while you are typing in a field.

Can I keep the timer visible while I work in another app?

Yes. When you press Start, the countdown also opens in a small floating window that stays on top of other tabs and apps. In Chrome and Edge it has its own pause, resume, and stop-alarm buttons. In Firefox and Safari it opens as picture-in-picture: the play and pause control pauses the timer and also stops the alarm. Drag the window to any corner; closing it leaves the timer running on the page, and the Float button brings it back. Float is for computers, so it doesn't show on phones. The floating timer page has more.

Is there a Pomodoro timer?

Yes. The Pomodoro timer runs 25 minutes of focus and a 5 minute break, with a 15 minute break after every fourth round. Each break starts on its own with a single chime, and the next focus block waits for you to press Start. In the cube view, the cube turns to show the next phase. You can change all three lengths, and they are saved on this device.

Is there a timer for the classroom?

Yes. The classroom timer opens in the digital view with large digits and a thick bar that fades from green through orange to red as time runs out, so the whole room can see how long is left. Show on the board puts it in full screen on the projector or interactive whiteboard.

Can I use it as a stage timer for speakers?

Yes. The stage timer turns the digits amber with two minutes left and red with one, then keeps counting past zero so everyone can see how far over a talk has run. Second screen puts the clock on a monitor facing the speaker while you keep the controls at the desk, and lets you send them a note like Wrap up without walking on stage.

Is there a stopwatch?

Yes. The online stopwatch counts up to the hundredth of a second, records laps with the L key, marks the fastest and slowest lap, and copies the lap table straight into a spreadsheet. It has full screen and the floating window too.

Is there an interval timer for workouts?

Yes. The interval timer runs rounds of work and rest on its own, with Tabata and HIIT presets or your own times. Three beeps count down every change, so you can follow it without looking at the screen.

Can the projector show the timer while the controls stay on my laptop?

Yes, on the classroom timer, the stage timer, the interval timer and the stopwatch, when the projector is set up as a second screen rather than a mirror. Press Second screen and the timer opens alone in its own window. Drag it onto the projector and click it to fill the screen. Start, pause, and reset stay on your laptop, and the projected timer follows along. If your screens are mirrored, use Show on the board instead.

Can I turn the alarm off?

Yes. Switch off Sound when timer ends under the timer, or press the bell in the full-screen bar. The countdown still ends with Time's up on screen, and your choice is saved for next time.

Why didn't the alarm play?

Check the alarm switch, the device volume, and whether the browser is allowed to play sound. The first click on the page unlocks audio. The on-screen Time's up message still shows if sound is blocked.

Do I need an account?

No. Your sound and view choices, Pomodoro lengths, and last interval plan are saved in local storage on this device.

Is it free?

Yes, with no account and no sign-up. Ads may appear below the timer in the future, but the countdown never sits under an ad.

Can my school or company get its own branded version?

Yes. For a one-time fee we set up a copy with your institution's name, logo, and colours, with no ads and no tracking, to run on your own website. Email support@webzido.com for a quote.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Presets are large enough to tap. Full screen switches to landscape and shows only the clock, so you can stand the phone on a desk. Tap the screen to bring the controls back.
