What a 15 minute timer is good for

Fifteen minutes is where a session starts to feel like work instead of a warm-up. In a quarter hour you can write a page of notes, get through a short lesson, or work a handful of practice problems, and the finish line never feels far away.

It also fits the gaps in a day: the quarter hour before a meeting, after lunch, or while something is in the oven. Instead of losing those minutes to tabs and notifications, give them one task.

Try it for

  • Draft an outline or a few paragraphs
  • One lesson or problem set
  • Language flashcards
  • A quick workout or yoga flow
  • Prepare for a meeting
  • Reset the kitchen after dinner

Getting the most from 15 minutes

  1. Fill the gaps between meetings

A quarter hour between calls is easy to waste. Pick one small item from your list before the gap starts, then press Start.

  2. Stack two for half an hour

If fifteen feels short, run it twice with a short pause between. It's an easy way to build up to longer focus blocks.

  3. Keep the clock in view

On a computer, Start also opens a floating timer that stays above your other apps, so the time left is visible in any window.

15 Minute Timer questions

Is 15 minutes enough for studying?

For a focused review, yes. Pick one topic, close other tabs, and stop when the alarm rings. A few 15 minute rounds with short breaks can beat one long, distracted hour.

Which face of the cube is 15 minutes?

The top face. Pick 15 on the main timer and the cube rolls it to the front. On this page it's already selected, so you can press Start straight away.
