Overview
TimerFlip is a free countdown timer at timerflip.com. It is a static website: the countdown runs entirely in your browser, there is no account, and there is no database of timers or users.
This policy explains the little data the site does handle, who handles it, and how to switch it off. It applies to timerflip.com and to the floating timer window it opens.
What we don't collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or password. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No record of your timers on a server. Durations, pauses, and alarms all happen on your device.
- No microphone, camera, or location access. The site blocks those browser features outright.
- No payment details. TimerFlip is free.
What stays on your device
Four preferences are saved in your browser's local storage, and only after you change them. They are not cookies and are never sent to us.
timerflip:alarm1 or 0Whether the chime plays when a timer ends.timerflip:viewcube or digitalWhich display the timer opens with.timerflip:pomodoroMinutes per phaseYour focus, short break and long break lengths on the Pomodoro timer.timerflip:intervalsSeconds and roundsThe work, rest and round count you last picked on the interval timer.Clearing site data for timerflip.com removes all four. The timer keeps working with its defaults.
When you use Second screen, a random ID is kept in session storage under timerflip:present so the controls and the projected window can find each other. It is deleted when you close the tab and never leaves your device. Lap times are not stored at all.
Analytics
When analytics is switched on, the site loads Google Analytics to understand which features people use. Like most analytics, Google receives the page you visited, your browser and device type, the referring site, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. It sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_* to tell visits apart.
On top of page views, the timer sends these events. None of them include personal details.
timer_started- Which preset, custom length, or Pomodoro phase was started.
preset_selected- Which preset, for example 30 minutes.
custom_duration- The custom length in seconds.
timer_completed- Which preset ran to zero.
alarm_toggled- Whether the chime was turned on or off.
view_changed- Cube or digital.
float_opened- The floating timer was reopened.
fullscreen_entered- Full screen was opened.
present_opened- A timer or the stopwatch was opened on a second screen.
intervals_started- An interval workout began, and its work, rest and rounds.
intervals_custom- Custom work, rest and rounds were set.
intervals_completed- An interval workout ran to the end.
stopwatch_started- The stopwatch was started from zero.
laps_copied- Lap times were copied, and how many laps there were.
pomodoro_break- A focus block ended and its short or long break began.
pomodoro_phase_selected- Which Pomodoro phase was picked by hand.
pomodoro_lengths- The saved focus length, in minutes.
To opt out, install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on or use a content blocker. The timer works exactly the same without analytics.
Advertising
The site does not show ads today. It may later show Google AdSense ads below the timer, labeled Advertisement. Ads are never placed on the countdown, never styled to look like timer buttons, and never refresh on a timer.
When ads run, Google and its partners may use cookies to show and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this and other sites. Visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent first. You can turn off personalized ads in My Ad Center, and read how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Hosting and email
Like any website, the servers that deliver TimerFlip may briefly log standard request details, such as IP address, browser, and time, to keep the site secure and running. We don't use those logs to identify you.
The contact form asks for your name, email, and message. We use them only to reply, and the message is delivered to support@webzido.com. We don't add you to a mailing list or share your email. To slow repeated submissions, the server keeps your IP address in memory for a few minutes. That list is not written to disk and is cleared when the server restarts.
Children
Students of any age use TimerFlip in class and at home, ideally with a parent or teacher. The timer doesn't ask for personal details. The contact form is optional, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you think a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Your choices
- Clear site data in your browser settings to remove the saved preferences and analytics cookies.
- Block cookies or use a content blocker. The timer doesn't need either to work.
- Opt out of Google Analytics and personalized ads using the links above.
- Ask us to delete any email you sent us by writing to support@webzido.com.
Changes to this policy
If the site starts handling data differently, we will update this page and the date at the top. The Terms of Use cover the rest of how the site may be used.
